The project headed by Prof. Rizavel Rizavel Corsino Addawe and composed of her team namely Prof. Jhunas Paul Viernes, Ms. Criselda Libatique, Ms. Shielden Domilies, Mr. Joseph Marigmen, Ms. Raya Gueco, Ms. Aprimelle Kris J. Pajimola and Dr. Donnabel Tubera Panes from the Baguio City Epidemiology Surveillance unit is one of the awardees of the UP’s 4th Gawad Pangulo: Award for Excellence in Public Service.
Their project is entitled "Exploratory data analysis (EDA) of Baguio City COVID-19 cases Daily Updates."

Prof. Andrei A. Domogo is the first graduate of the UP Baguio PhD Mathematics program. He had successfully passed his dissertation examination on December 2021. His Dissertation Title is entitled “Patient-Specific Parameter Estimation: Coupling Mechanistic Models of Blood Flow in the Heart and in the Intracranial Cavity with Data” and his advisers were Johnny T. Ottesen, PhD and Gilbert R. Peralta, Dr. rer. nat.

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science held its first Sab-atan 2021 International Conference on Mathematical Sciences and Application online last November 24-26,2021 with speakers from Japan, Malaysia, Philippines and the USA. Attended by different participants from all over the world, the three-day conference was held in celebration of Prof. Priscilla Macansantos’s retirement. Detailed story here.

The College of Science joins the nationwide celebration of the National Science and Technology Week 2021 in cooperation with the Department of Science and Technology. Series of webinars organized by the CS Lecture Series Committee, UP Physics Sphere and the BioSoc student organization were held from November 22 to 26, 2021 via zoom and streamed live in the UPB College of Science facebook page and youtube channel in accordance with the theme “Agham at Teknolohiya: Tugon sa Hamon ng Panahon”. Other activities include virtual tour of the CS Research Laboratories as well as a plant photography contest titled BioClicks.
